Ahead of the 2027 general election, a support group backing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that it will anchor its campaign on the administration’s achievements recorded over the past three years.
The group, Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria (RHGN), made the declaration at a world press conference in Abuja on Monday, addressed by its National Coordinator, Hon. Calistus Anyanwu.
Speaking on the theme, “From Policy to Prosperity,” Anyanwu said, unlike other support groups, RHGN would focus on showcasing the achievements of the Tinubu administration as the basis for seeking a renewed mandate from Nigerians.
He said the group was not established for political patronage but was founded on the belief that leadership should be judged by performance, reforms by their results, and public policies by their impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.
According to him, RHGN comprises professionals, farmers, artisans, business owners, academics, traditional rulers, women, youths, members of the diaspora and grassroots mobilisers, united by the objective of promoting informed public understanding of reforms aimed at building a stronger, safer and more prosperous Nigeria.
Anyanwu listed the removal of fuel subsidy, unification of the foreign exchange market, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), tax reforms, direct remittance of statutory allocations to the 774 local government councils, and ongoing constitutional efforts to establish state police as some of the landmark achievements the group intends to present to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 election.
He disclosed that RHGN would, in the coming weeks and months, engage heads of federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in a series of public interfaces to showcase their achievements and contributions to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
While acknowledging that many Nigerians are experiencing hardship as a result of the administration’s economic reforms, Anyanwu maintained that the temporary pains would ultimately translate into long-term gains for the country.
He stressed that RHGN would promote fact-based public engagement on government reforms, saying Nigerians deserve national conversations built on evidence rather than emotion.
He added that the group had established structures across the country and would soon commence nationwide town hall meetings to explain the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda, receive public feedback and strengthen communication between government and citizens.
