….urges team work, better days ahead

The Senate Press Corps has inaugurated a 9-member executive committee (EXCO) led by Comrade Taiye Odewale of Blueprint Newspapers as Chairman and Naomi Sharang of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) as Vice Chairman.
The colourful event which took place at the Senate Press Corps Centre, National Assembly, Monday was conducted by Barrister Musa Adamu in line with the constitution of the Corps.
Mr. Odewale, who expressed appreciation to the members for the trust reposed in the new executive, solicited the continued support of all members for them to achieve their set objectives of improving the welfare of the members.
He said “after of giving us your mandate as new executives of our great Senate Press Corps, we are very committed to taking the corps to greater heights from where it is today.
“In doing this, we need the support and cooperation of all, in line with the saying that “united we stand, divided we fall”.
Odewale recalled that as separately promised before securing their colleagues’ mandate in December last year, “the principles of productivity, prosperity, Professionalism and transparency, shall guide the conducts of the new executive “for the benefits of all”.
He said ahead of resumption of the Senate next week, necessary interface with relevant departments and authorities in the Senate wing of the National Assembly, was being made by the team for a more conducive working environment for all stakeholders.
Other members of the EXCO are Samson Atekojo (Secretary), Charity Marcus (Assistant Secretary), Tunde Opalana (Treasurer), Caroline Ameh (Financial Secretary), Mustapha Eniseyin (Auditor), Timothy Adebisi (Welfare) and Peter Owolabi (Chief Whip).
The EXCO has a tenure of two years of two terms of office.
