Tinubu swears in Amupitan as new INEC chairman

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Thursday swore in Professor Joash Amupitan as the new chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The new INEC chairman was sworn in at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

This followed his confirmation by the Senate this week.

Amupitan, a professor of law at the University of Jos (UNIJOS), hails from Ayetoro Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi state.
