President Bola Tinubu has told members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council that he will not attend every campaign event ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Tinubu made this known in Abuja on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, during the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

He explained that he needed to remain focused on governing the country and handling pressing national and international financial obligations.

“So, you will excuse me from going everywhere with you, we have bills to pay. The American creditors cannot wait,” the President said.

Tinubu directed members of the council to take the party’s message directly to voters across all states and local government areas.

Although he may not attend many physical campaign rallies, the President assured that he would still make time to address Nigerians directly, while the council takes the lead in grassroots mobilisation.
