Former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Mohamed Makarfi has sent warm felicitations to the Nigerian Muslim Community and indeed all Nigerians, urging them rededicate to Allah on the occasion of Eid-El Adha 1447 AH (2026).

He said “even as we celebrate, however it remains incumbent upon us to continue to submit to Allah by rededicating ourselves to His cause and ensure that we imbibe the lessons of the season.

“We must not lose sight of the lessons of sacrifice and obedience to the dictates of Allah, which form part of the essence of the Eid el Adha as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to the command of Allah. We should, in our own various ways, try to emulate this spirit of devotion and submission to the Will of our Creator, by maintaining faith in Him and continuously praying to Him for guidance and protection.

“I call on us all to use the period for sober reflections on the situation of our country even as we pray to Allah to see us through the numerous challenges confronting us as a nation. We should strive to consciously and deliberately work towards realizing our God-given potentials by, among others looking at and exploiting the positive aspects of our diversity as a people.

He said God in His infinite wisdom and mercy has created us the way He has, with all our diverse endowments in both human and natural resources and has decreed that we exist in this highly endowed nation as each other’s keeper, adding that “the best way to express our gratitude to Him is to continue to live in peace and keep on harnessing our diversity in order to explore and exploit the numerous opportunities He has endowed our nation with, in so many positive ways”.

“May the spirit of sacrifice, love, peace and obedience to Allah (SWT) strengthen our unity as a nation. May it also be a harbinger of hope, security and prosperity to all of us

“I also wish to congratulate our pilgrims for the God-given opportunity to perform this year’s Hajj and also urge them to, as part of their rituals, pray for the continued peace, security, development and prosperity of our dear country. I also wish them a successful as well as fruitful Hajj, and a safe return home”.
