Today February 1, 2026, Egypt Air flight MS879 from Cairo to Abuja and Kano Nigeria scheduled for 10am has subjected Nigerian Passengers to sub human treatment and outright denial of their rights as passengers.

The Abuja flight which was scheduled for 9 am was delayed to 12noon, then rescheduled for 3.30 pm and now new time of 5.30 pm without any comfort or explanation.

The same problem applies to the Cairo to Kano flight without explanation.

Some passengers in business class were downgraded to economy class without any explanation and no passenger is even sure of what is going to happen.

Some passengers who made enquiries with some of the staff of the Airline in respect of compensation were told that only European passengers delayed more than five hours are entitled to among other things monetary compensation of $600.

Similar maltreatment was meted to Nigerian passengers by Saudia Airlines recently.

The Saudi authorities had to formally apologize to Nigerian government.
