INEC Chairman, Joash Ojo Amupitan, made the disclosure on Friday at a well-attended press briefing held at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja. During the briefing, he also presented the comprehensive timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections.

He explained that the release of the timetable aligns with constitutional provisions and the requirements of the Electoral Act 2022 guiding election planning and administration.

According to the commission, the early announcement is intended to give political parties, stakeholders, and election officials sufficient time to prepare, while promoting transparency and certainty in the electoral process.

INEC reiterated its determination to conduct free, fair, and credible elections, assuring Nigerians that all necessary arrangements would be made to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the polls across the country.
