Speaker Abbas expresses sadness over killing of Sarkin Gobir by kidnappers

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen has expressed sadness over the death of the District Head of Gatawa in Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa, in kidnappers’ den.

It will be recalled that bandits kidnapped the late District Head of Gatawa and his son on July 29, but sadly the District Head was reported to have died in captivity.

In a statement by Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Abbas described the bandits’ kidnap and the treatment meted to the traditional ruler as “barbaric and inhuman”.

He decried the continuous kidnapping for ransom in the country, stating that it is unacceptable.

The Speaker sent heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Sarkin Gobir, the Gatawa District in Sabon Birni Local Government, the people and government of Sokoto State over the irreparable loss.

He prayed to Allah to have mercy on the soul of the late Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa and make Jannatul Firdaus his final abode.
