Prominent citizens from Kogi state have expressed shock at the demise of the former senator representing Kogi East, Dr. Alex Kadiri.
Dr. Kadiri died on Friday after a brief illness in an undisclosed hospital in Abuja, FCT.
Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho) representing Kogi East, expressed shock and sadness over the demise of former Senator Alex Kadiri.
Senator Alex Kadiri, a respected elder statesman and former Director-General (Federal Permanent Secretary) in the civil service, according to Senator Echocho, achieved a lot in his life time.
Echocho described Senator Kadiri’s death as “a devastating loss, not only for his family and friends, but for the entire nation”.
He extended his “heartfelt condolences to the Kadiri family, his loved ones, Kogi State and the people of Nigeria” and prayed for his soul rest in peace.
In his condolence message, a former Minister, Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni, described late Dr. Alex Kadiri as a “seasoned technocrat and politician” who was known for his wise counsel, commitment to justice, equity, and fairness, and his dedication to the development of Kogi state.
Prof. Ocheni extended his condolences to the governor, government and people of Kogi state, and prayed that God comforts the family of the deceased and eternal rest for his soul.
The late Dr. Kadiri who hails from Odu in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi state celebrated his 82nd birthday last Friday.
